How it Works

Need Navigator brings your programs and teams together around the individuals you serve. We accomplish this by giving you greater insight into each individual’s life through well thought-out interfaces and smart automations. With our software, it is truly possible to know when an adult you are helping also has a child participating in another program; or whether the student you are seeing now has an older sibling you saw before due to the same emotionally negligent parent. With Need Navigator, all of this is not only possible, but it is already transforming the level of care being provided by the organizations that are using our software.

Individuals are at the core of the Need Navigator system. We recognized early on in the planning stages of developing this product that who your “family” is depends very much on your point of view. For better or worse, viewing individuals through the lens of the traditional nuclear family does not account for a lot of real world cases, these often being the ones that need our love and compassion the most. For this reason, our system simply allows you to create individuals and relate them to the people in their lives with no constraints placed on the number or nature of these relationships.

Individuals

Every bit as important as individuals are the users that support them. Need Navigator has been designed with them in mind too. While building the system, we listened closely to the needs of our clients. If a task was too difficult or time intensive, we found a way to streamline it. We built Need Navigator so that repetitive and routine tasks can be handled by automation. All of this means more time where your users can focus on the care they are providing and less time on data input. Users are the backbone of the programs you offer and in every way possible we aim to have the system work for them to make their lives easier.

Users

Programs and Teams work together to help organize the services you are providing. Create programs with multiple distinct teams of users overseeing them and choose individuals to enroll in these programs. Your users can belong to one or all of these teams, which are uniquely designed to help users share the labor involved in caring for the individuals you serve.

Programs each have their own custom intake forms that can be tailored to your specific requirements, and you can customize an individual's profile to seamlessly show program-specific information (e.g. 'School Attended').

Programs & Teams

Organizations are another important component of the Need Navigator system. With them, you can track how often a place is used as a visit location, as well as for performing referrals; either to the organization as a whole, or to a specific contact. Organizations can be grouped by types that you define, as well as being used as a “funder.” When setting up your funders, you can easily list grants that you have received from them, control which programs can access the money, and watch as individual disbursements draw down a funding pool in real time.

Out of the box, Need Navigator provides you with helpful demographic information, as well as general statistics, and utilization data. Beyond that, you are able to define custom reports for anything that has been entered into the system, including custom forms that you have created. Reports export to CSV format so you can use and manipulate the data in line with your existing practices.
